The Australia China Business Council is the peak national body dedicated to bilateral and business relationships between Australia and the People’s Republic of China. Founded more than 50 years ago, the ACBC promotes streamlined, productive and respectful introductions and relationships between business and cultural entities. The Tasmania Branch is particularly important: the People’s Republic of China has commercial interests in Australia that are well disposed towards the state. In 2014 President and Mrs Xi Jinping’s State Visit recognised China’s engagement with Tasmania, and connections with China, outbound and inbound, are becoming ever stronger.
Tasmania is a Sister State to Fujian Province – a primary Chinese economic zone. China’s interest in business opportunity specific to Tasmania is powerful and growing. Hobart International Airport upgrades will soon enable direct flights to and from Asia.
